Diners rave about the incredible burgers at Papa's, particularly the homemade buns and seasoning on the meats. The grilled chicken sandwiches impress with their perfect cooking and generous portions. Happy-hour specials tempt guests with deals on appetizers and drinks, making it a great choice for social outings. The fried mushrooms stand out as a crowd favorite, leaving diners wanting more. Additionally, the vibrant bar selection, including cocktails and local beers, creates an enjoyable atmosphere. It's an excellent meeting point for university students and tourists alike: I've seen many connecting over good food and drinks here.
Most Disliked
Some guests express disappointment in the beverage options, specifically the absence of Coke products, which can be a letdown for avid fans. Additionally, while the service is generally praised, there have been instances where wait times increase during peak hours, especially on busy weekends. The ribeye steaks also receive mixed reviews; they are flavorful but can sometimes be perceived as chewy. Lastly, a few diners have noted their desired appetizers may occasionally be out of stock, preventing them from enjoying everything on the menu. Addressing these hiccups could elevate the already strong dining experience to even greater heights.

Stopped in at Papas while walking around Natchitoches while staying a couple nights for the Zwolle Tamale Festival. One gal taking care of the entire restaurant on a Friday night, but she was efficient and friendly and stayed on top of everything. Kitchen was turning out food at a good pace as well. Good menu with lots of choices. The fried mushrooms were some of the best we have ever had. We both had grilled chicken sandwiches and the portion was big, cooked perfectly, and also came with fries. Only disappointment was Pepsi products. Wife is a coke-aholic, but they did have some awesome sweet tea that she enjoyed. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Nice little bar and grub location on the main downtown strip. Great burgers with homemade fresh buns and fries.

Thank you for being open on a major holiday. Your hospitality was very appreciated. I had the rib eye salad and hubby had Ranch burger. Hubby said burger was delicious with a sweet and spicy combo between the veggies, sauce a burger was tender. My steak was a tad chewy but the flavor was great and their homemade honey mustard dressing was perfect. Nice bar area and a bakers dozen tables.

Wasn't sure what to order since everything looked good! But when our server said it was $1 wings Wednesday, I knew what I needed to do! However, in my head, I want Buffalo, but my mouth said BBQ. Some of the best BBQ wings I've had! My wife ordered the Hamburger Steak which was delicious! We also tried their "Turtle Eggs" which are like fried cheese stuff jalapeños. Those were good.

We stopped thru town to check out the Steel Magnolia spots and found this cute place in the downtown riverfront area for a mid week lunch. There was street parking available right across the street. We got there around 11ish; the place was empty so we had our choice of seating. The server was very attentive, friendly and informative. I ordered the Caramel Apple Martini. It 👏🏻 was 👏🏻 amazing 👏🏻 It tasted exactly like a caramel apple. Mostly tart with a sweet caramel glass drizzle. We ordered the Turtle Eggs (fried jalapeño) appetizer but they were out. Hubs ordered ribeye po boy. It had big chunks of nicely seasoned ribeye steak. I ordered the Honey ham sliders…I think it was actually Turkey. I didn’t mention it because it was good. A little fancy whole grain or spicy mustard would have made it perfect. The fries were crinkle cut and seasoned and fried deliciously! The prices were reasonable for what we ordered; $54 - 2 meals - his ribeye po boy was $17, the specialty cocktail was $12 WORTH it! And his bourbon and coke was $5. Bargain!. The atmosphere was what we expected…even with a mostly empty restaurant. The next time we are in the area I want to try out Mama’s next door and their live music on weekends!

Had a delightful late lunch on a Sunday afternoon when everything else was closed. Papa’s Bar and Grill was a great find! Welcoming staff and perfectly cooked meat pies did not disappoint. Great view of the Cane River Landing and Bridge. Upcoming May events were advertised for attached Mama’s Blues Room and they offer it free of charge for events and special occasions. Downtown Natchitoches is sleepy on Sundays with few places open so we were delighted to find this quaint gem with good food and good prices open late - kitchen was supposed to close at 2 but they cooked as a quick meal and did not rush us out. People were still drinking at the bar and outside people were laying out by the river enjoying the park and the pretty day. A must visit in Natchitoches and also it’s said “Nakadash” or something close for those who have never visited lol. Beautiful downtown and architecture in the oldest town (300 years) in Louisiana. Worth the detour off the interstate!

We stopped in for lunch on Saturday, April the 22nd. and had a great meal, everyone was pleased. We were in Louisiana for a HOG Rally and decided to have lunch in Natchitoches. We had a group of 15 riders and stopped at Papa's because they had tables for all of us. The staff was friendly and handled the rush in business very well. I had the Chicken Sandwich, it was recommended by the Waitress. The Sandwich was great, the chicken breast was seasoned and cooked perfectly! I also had their thick hand cut French Fries, they too were great. We had a great time and everyone was pleased with their meal. I would definitely like to return and try another dish some day.
